Friday Football Manager ("the App") is a private tool used to organise weekly football sessions. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how it is used, and your rights.

2. Data We Collect

We collect and store the following personal data about players:

  • Name — used to address players in messages and identify them in the squad list.
  • Phone number — used solely to send WhatsApp RSVP invites via the WhatsApp Business API.
  • RSVP responses — yes, no, or pending, along with the time of response.

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to:

  • Send you weekly WhatsApp messages inviting you to confirm or decline attendance.
  • Track your attendance response for the current session.
  • Manage the waitlist if the session is full.

We do not use your data for marketing, advertising, profiling, or any purpose outside of organising the football session.

4. Data Storage

Data is stored in a secure PostgreSQL database hosted on Neon (via Vercel). The App is hosted on Vercel infrastructure in the United States. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.

5. Third Parties

We share data with the following third parties only as necessary to operate the App:

  • Meta (WhatsApp Business API) — your phone number and name are used to send WhatsApp messages. Meta's privacy policy applies to message delivery.
  • Vercel / Neon — infrastructure providers that store and process data on our behalf.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any other third parties.

6. Data Retention

Player data is retained for as long as you are an active member of the squad. If you wish to be removed, contact the squad organiser and your data will be deleted promptly. Session and RSVP history may be retained for up to 12 months for record-keeping purposes.

7. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data.
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data.
